5.Institute of Social Work-Ustawi Wa Jamii.




The Institute of Social Work (ISW) is one of the higher learning institutions in Tanzania.The Institute was established 1974.The first programme was an Ordinary Diploma in Social Work, which was designed to address the manpower problem facing the Social Welfare Department. In 1977 the Institute began offering an Advanced Diploma in Social Work. This was necessitated by the need to meet social work professional standards. In 1982 the Institute introduced the certificate course in Labour Studies and later in 1990 an Advanced Diploma in Labour Studies was introduced. The purpose of the course was to train Labour Inspectors and Labour Administrators for the Labour Department

 
Further development was experienced in 2002 when the Institute introduced courses in Human Resources Management at Certificate and Advanced Diploma levels, and Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work. In 2004 Postgraduate Diploma in Law, Mediation and Arbitration was introduced. In 2006/07 the Institute introduced Bachelor Degrees (National Technical Award Level 8) and in 2007/08 Ordinary Diploma (National Technical Award Level 6) in all fields of study offered at the Institute. All training programmes offered by the Institute are competency based, aimed at equipping the trainees with requisite professional knowledge, skills and competence in their areas of specialization

 
4.Institute of Accountancy Arusha-IAA





The Institute of Accountancy Arusha (IAA) was established by the Parliament Act No. 1 of 1990. IAA offers professional and academic programmes at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Since its inception, the Institute has endeavoured to offer top quality academic and professional education

 


3.Dar es salaam Institute of Technology-DIT
 

  
The Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT) is located in the Dar es Salaam city centre, at the junction of Morogoro Road and Bibi Titi Mohamed Street. Historically, DIT was established in 1997 by the Act of Parliament, “the DIT Act No.6 of 1997” to replace the Dar es Salaam Technical College, which had a long history of technical training in Tanzania. This history dates back to 1957 when its predecessor; the Dar es Salaam Technical Institute was established with the main task of providing vocational training in the country. The Institute later expanded its scope to offer technical secondary school courses and training for Technical Assistants before it was upgraded in 1962 to become the Dar es Salaam Technical College (DTC); the first formal technical training institution in the country.



DIT is a fully accredited institution by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE). It offers a wide range of full-time, part-time and professional engineering qualifications and courses. The Institute has replaced the FTC and ADE programmes with Ordinary Diploma and Bachelor of Engineering programmes respectively (i.e National Technical Awards (NTA ) Level 4-8) in line with the NACTE competence based modular training system


2.Tanzania Institute of Accountancy-TIA/UHASIBU




TIA is one of the Technical Institutions in Tanzania, providing courses in accountancy and business related fields that are recognized by NACTE, the National Council for technical Education.

The Tanzania Institute of Accountancy (TIA) was established as a Government Executive Agency under the Ministry of Finance in accordance with the Executive Agencies Act No. 30 of 1997. On 1st July 2002 the establishment Act mandated it to provide education in Accountancy, Procurement and Supply, Research and Consultancy activities and other business related academic fields. 

The institute is offering - in its headquarter Dar es Salaam and in Mbeya, Mtwara, and Singida - certificate, diploma and degree courses for the public and private sector. Besides these courses, TIA is offering special programmes for central and local government employees, review classes and consultancy services.



1.Institute of Finance Management-IFM






Established in 1972, and stands as the oldest higher learning financial institution in Tanzania, the Institute of Finance Management (IFM) is dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, and consultancy. Currently, the Institute enrolls about 8,400 students in both undergraduate and graduate programmes. At IFM, students are inspired and challenged to investigate critical issues of the 21st century in areas of financial management, insurance, social protection, and information technology. IFM offers an unparalleled student experience, both in and out of the classroom. The Institute has four faculties that award certificate, diploma and degree, postgraduate diploma, and master’s degree. From to time to time, the Institute offers short courses to address certain needs in the market. Up to date, the Institute has 13,652 alumni.
