THE MAIN FEATURES OF EDUCATION IN TANZANIA

The main features of the Tanzania's education system is the bilingual policy, which requires pupils to learn both Kiswahili and English. the learning of Kiswahili enables students to maintain their bonds with their cultural values and heritage while the learning of English is essential, as English is the Kiswahili of the world. it links Tanzania and the rest of the world through communication, technology, commerce, as well as administration. while Kiswahili is a medium of instruction at primary education level and  a compulsory subject bat secondary education level, English is medium of instruction at secondary and tertiary levels and is taught as a compulsory subject at primary education level.
